Plan Your Family Photo Session at Leita Thompson Memorial Park in Roswell, GA

If you’ve ever tried to plan family photos, you know it’s not always as simple as “show up and smile.” Where should we go? Will parking be easy? And how do we keep the kids from melting down?

That’s why I love creating location guides! I’ve worked at Leita Thompson Park often, and I’ll walk you through the best spots, kid-friendly tips, and even where to grab a bite nearby—so you can relax and actually enjoy the experience.

Tip #1 - Parking🚗 & Location

Parking is free!

You can plug in Leita Thompson Park or use 1355 Woodstock Rd, Roswell, GA 30075.

This address will take you to the Arts Center West area, which is right by one of the main parking lots.

There are two parking areas at Leita. I usually park near the Pavillion because it’s the closest to where we start shooting. If you end up in the Arts Center lot, the gazebo area is just a short, easy walk down the gravel path.

If it’s your first time visiting, give yourself a couple extra minutes to find the starting point. The park is beautiful but can be a little confusing the first go. I’ll also share a small map at the bottom of the page so you know exactly where to go.

Tip #2 - A Note on Walking 👟

Most sessions Leita Thompson Park won’t require much walking -especially mini sessions. I always start of shooting at the But if you’ve booked a full or longer session, or if we’re chasing the best light, we may wander a little more. Just a heads up: if you’re bringing grandparents or anyone who’d prefer less walking, let me know and I’ll keep us closer to the main areas.

Tip #3 - Bathrooms

Unfortunately, Leita Thompson doesn’t have traditional restrooms, only port-a-potties. I definitely recommend trying to go before you arrive, especially if you’ve got little ones. It just makes the whole session smoother and stress free.
